This year, DAF trucks have received many awards for fuel efficiency: Green Truck Award, for the lowest consumption in combined mode during comparative tests of the European Truck Challenge, etc. However, there is no limit to perfection, and therefore DAF Trucks decided to offer it from January 2024 cars with the new Efficiency Champion package. It is available on XD, XF, XG and XG+ models equipped with MX-11 and MX-13 engines and in a variety of cab styles.
The trucks get a wide range of features aimed at fuel efficiency. This includes a camera system instead of mirrors – DAF Digital Vision, and a full aerodynamic package, and tires with reduced rolling resistance, predictive cruise control (taking into account the topography of the area), as well as a powerful Paccar MX engine brake. In addition, the engines are equipped with the latest software, which makes their operation more balanced. Remote diagnostics via online platforms are also simplified. All this reduces the total cost of ownership.
DAF trucks with the Efficiency Champion package are prepared to run on biofuel HVO – hydrotreated vegetable oil, which reduces CO2 emissions by 90% compared to diesel. The cars also correspond to class 3 in terms of CO2 emissions for the next 6 years, which allows minimizing tolls on German roads.
Also, all DAF trucks that will be delivered to customers from January 2024 will receive the latest driver assistance systems – ADAS. This is the latest version of the emergency braking system, a starting assistance system, a blind spot scanning system when turning to identify pedestrians and cyclists, a speed limit sign recognition system, a lane departure warning system, etc.
