R3 Tvrdošín – Nižná and highway feeder at Kysucie
What highway innovations await motorists in Slovakia in 2024? In terms of new kilometers within the network of highways and expressways, there will not be much, but something will still be found.
It will primarily be the R3 section on Orava Tvrdošín – Nižná. The new expressway is 5.6 km long, of which 4.4 km is the R3 route, the intersection branches are 480 meters long and the feeder is 697 meters long. The section includes 11 bridges, the longest bridge is 248 meters long.
The construction of the Tvrdošín bypass began in March 2021. The section will relieve the city of transit traffic and increase the safety and flow of road traffic, Slovak highway officials promise. It will reduce driving time and save fuel for motorists.
NDS informed about the current situation on the construction of the Tvrdošín – Nižná railway line. “All bridges have completed their foundations, and most of them also have the lower structure, supports and piers of the bridges finished. Earthworks are currently ongoing on the construction site, from subsoil rehabilitation, construction of embankments, through excavations and excavations in trenches, on wall structures, to the implementation of culverts. ” it is written in the opinion of highway officials.
