Law enforcement officers noted that the equipment was found not directly in the office of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but in one of the premises that could be used by him for work in the future.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) opened criminal proceedings regarding the discovery of a technical device in one of the potential locations of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. The SBU reports this.
“Proceedings have been opened under Article 359 Part 2 (illegal acquisition, sale or use of special technical means of obtaining information) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” the statement says.
Law enforcement officers noted that the equipment was not found directly in Zaluzhny’s office, but in one of the rooms that could be used by him for work in the future.
According to preliminary data, the detected device was inoperative. No means of storing information or means of remote transmission of audio recordings were found.
This technical device will be submitted for examination.
“The SBU officers are taking all measures provided for by law to investigate this offense,” the SBU notes.
Military secrets became public: Painter about information leaks
Former Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar said that there were incidents at the headquarters with leaks of classified information when “military secrets became public.”
“I don’t know what and who the Commander-in-Chief wanted to hear, because in principle everyone understands that there is a possibility of eavesdropping and information leakage. Therefore, this is always taken into account during voice communication,” the note says.
Let us recall that earlier the Center for Countering Disinformation reported that the occupying forces gained access to cellular equipment in temporarily occupied territories, and therefore it is likely that they will interfere with the operation of mobile communications.
