They ended up in the desert unwillingly
Blind trust in technology does not pay off in some cases. Shelby Easler and dozens of other drivers in the US, whose Google Maps incorrectly navigated to the Californian desert, recently found out about it.
Originally, they wanted to go from Las Vegas to Los Angeles on a regular highway. However, when they set off in the second half of November, the mobile app came up with a warning that they needed to take an alternate route, as they would face the threat of a dust storm if they continued on the direct route on Interstate 15.
However, this is where the problems started, as the Google application came up with a suggested route through the desert, which is definitely not an official route for ordinary cars and motorists who do not know the area. However, Easler respected the navigation’s recommendation, she first went on a gravel road, which later turned into an even worse bumpy dirt road.
