The Region of Central Greece is taking delivery of 59 new cars, with reduced emissions and low fuel consumption, while for the first time electric vehicles are also included in its fleet.
The Region of Central Greece receives new cars through the process of operational leasing. These are vehicles of modern technology with reduced emission of pollutants and low fuel consumption, while for the first time electric motors are also included in the fleet. In total, the Region of Central Greece receives 59 new vehicles, with which it replaces 17 old technology polluting and high operating cost vehicles and additionally covers the service needs of all Regional Units.
In detail, the Region of Central Greece receives 18 passenger cars with diesel fuel, 26 with diesel fuel and the ability to drive 4X4, 10 PickUp type with diesel fuel and the ability to drive 4X4, as well as 5 electric passenger cars.
The contract for the 5-year operational lease of the 59 vehicles exempts the Region of Central Greece from a number of other costs, such as vehicle insurance, tire replacement, mechanical repairs, MOT and road tax costs. Vehicle replacement is also provided within 48 hours in case of breakdown. The receipt of the new cars began on Thursday, December 14, 2023. It should be noted that the receipt of 17 new ambulances and mobile units for the needs of the EMS in Central Greece has already begun and is nearing completion.
