The Russian military is transferring reserves of assault battalions to the Kupyansk direction to compensate for heavy losses. During an offensive, the enemy takes care of equipment, but does not take into account human resources, said Vladimir Fityo, head of the public relations service of the command of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The armed forces of the Russian Federation are trying to capture Kupyansk in the Kharkov region to create a springboard for a further offensive deeper into Ukraine. This was announced by the head of the public relations service of the command of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Vladimir Fityo during the telethon.
“The enemy has not given up his intentions on the city of Kupyansk,” said Vladimir Fityo.
He noted that the occupiers resumed active hostilities in this sector of the front from the beginning of October. During Friday, December 15, near Sinkovka, the Ukrainian military repelled nine enemy attacks. The occupiers are trying to capture the village to further create a bridgehead for the attack on Kupyansk.
According to Fityo, Kupyansk is an important hub. The enemy plans to use the city as a springboard for an attack on other unoccupied territories. In addition, the occupiers are transferring reserves of assault battalions to the Kupyansk direction to compensate for heavy losses. In particular, during the day, the enemy used two kamikaze drones twice and carried out 258 attacks. But the Ukrainian military liquidated hundreds of invaders and destroyed 14 units of military equipment, including three tanks. On Thursday, the Russian Armed Forces lost more equipment – nine tanks and ten infantry fighting vehicles.
He added that for the offensive, the invaders actively use equipment and human resources, in particular, the enemy takes more care of equipment, while human resources do not play a role for him.
“They throw people into assaults, reconnaissance in force, and just meat assaults, not counting losses,” explained Vladimir Fityo.
Let us recall that on December 12, military observer Alexander Kovalenko said that one should not exaggerate the capabilities of the Russian Armed Forces, which regrouped in the Kupyansk direction. According to him, the capabilities of the Zapad UV are limited and do not allow one to count on an effective breakthrough of the defense lines.
At the same time, the head of the Kharkov regional military administration, Oleg Sinegubov, reported that Kupyansk began to be strengthened with a ring defense modeled on Kharkov. He noted that as of December, fortifications were being built in all directions, but priority was given to four of them.
