It is reminded that members of the Association “Car of the Year for Greece” are 27 experienced journalists of the Greek special press. Every journalist had it at his disposal 100 points to award the candidate models – which this year due to a tie was 11 – giving a maximum score of 20 and a minimum of 5. The final score for the selection of the winner was formed gradually, during the event, as the votes of the 27 members were announced one by one to one, in alphabetical order.
Greetings at the event were addressed by K. George Vasilakis, who pointed out, among other things, the need to renew the fleet of cars in Greece, and Nikos Tsadaris, President of the Panhellenic Association of Automobile and Motorcycle Journalists (PASYDAM). For his part, the President of the “Association of Journalists for the Car of the Year for Greece”, Nikos Lupakis, in his short speech he underlined the important role of the independent institution that comes to strengthen the car market in its own way, choosing every year a proposal that best suits the measures of the Greek consumer.
In the context of the event, he was awarded Tasos Marquizos “Iaveris” for its overall offering in the field of motoring and road safety. An award was also given to the journalist Dimitris Diatsidis for 40 years of service to the Special Press. Dimitris Diatsidis was also the presenter of the very beautiful event, which was organized by Automotive Promotion.
The “Car of the Year for Greece” once again thanks him in particular Mr. Christos Anastasiadis for the kind, as always, concession of the Megara Motorway area, both for the driving of the 11 candidate models by the members of the institution on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, and for the award ceremony.
It is worth noting that the event, which had the support of tires Continental and winemaking Latour Melas, preceded by a skills competition on the track. Company executives and journalists were “matched” against the timer, aiming for stable driving rather than the highest speed, as they had to perform two consecutive rounds achieving the same time if possible. The winners were Argyris Toundas (among the invited executives of car companies) and Kostas Boidanis (among the invited journalists).
The event was held under his auspices Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport and his PASYDAM. Next week, on the official website of the association (atx.gr) texts will be posted with the reasoning with which each member of the institution voted, while in the next few days the annual publication of the “Car of the Year for Greece” will be available. in digital form.
