The reasons are different. In the mentioned cases, it was, for example, an extension of the warranty period of the bridge, a change in the technological solution of the tunnel or unfavorable geology, informs the daily Hospodárske noviny.
As estimated by HN, the total cost of the Prešov bypass and its three sections could be 860 million euros, making it one of the costliest expressways built so far in Slovakia (although it still did not overtake the Žilina bypass). It is thus based on a simplified calculation of the price per kilometer of highway, which, however, does not take into account the many specifics of construction projects, geological differences and other input parameters from which the final price of highways is based.
