Seventy years of history on the international sports scene are presented through a mini-series of documentaries through which the course of the Acropolis Rally unfolds.
One of the first actions decided in the context of the celebrations of seventy years of the Acropolis Rally, the creation of a documentary miniseries, is nearing completion. Earlier today part of the production was revealed, which is expected to be shown on the small screen within 2024.
THE twenty minutes “premiere” was hosted at the sphera hall of Village Cinemas at “The Athens Mall”, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Sports and President of the Organizing Committee of the EKO Rally Acropolis, Yannis Vroutsis. During his greeting, the minister, among other things, emphasized the continuous support of the State in the struggle, saying:“During the three completely successful previous years, we were given the opportunity many times to refer to the unprecedented will of the State and the government of Kyriakos Mitsotakis for the return of the fight to world events.
With these as a starting point, we have the pleasure of being here today, to close together the third year of the modern history of the match, but above all the seventieth of its golden course, which was also the reason for the creation of this documentary”.
The guests were welcomed by the presenter of the documentary mini-series, George Amoutzas. The young actor, in this case in the role of narrator in the four episodes that make up the series, thanked both Motorsport Greece (producer of the series) and all the contributors for the opportunity given to him to participate in this project.
The four episodes, lasting 45 minutes each, attempt an in-depth approach at first of history of the fight, with the continuation being given to the perspective with which they see it Audiencethe Competing and the Organizers, who “dress up” historical and contemporary footage with their own testimonies or experiences.
The execution of the production was undertaken by Boo Productions. It was directed by Leonidas Panonidis, in the photo address o Nikos Ziogas, in the editing o Alex Jaschik, in post production o Antonis Xenos, in journalistic research the Yannis-Marios Papadopoulos and Kostas Psarras and in the editorial board Maria Luka.
The creation of the documentary was welcomed by EKO, Sponsor of the race, by Mr. Sotiris Anastasiadis, Director of Corporate Relations at HELLENiQ Energy. He referred to the long-term support of EKO in the Acropolis Rally, pointing out that “as long as the race is carried out with such professionalism, EKO will stand by the organizers”.
Details regarding the promotion of the EKO Rally Acropolis and the FIA World Rally Championship were presented by WRC Promoter’s Race Director, Simon Larkin.
With the race hopefully “closing” its seventh decade having achieved recognition on the international sports scene in absolute combination with the promotion of Greece, Mr. Yiannis Vrousis set the tone for the following day, saying?“This emblematic event will continue to be under the auspices of the ministry and our permanent goal will remain the promotion of the country, the creation of economic opportunities and the continuous awareness of the public in the policy of road safety, all through planning and implementation of Rally Acropolis”.
