According to Russian media, about 30 thousand residents of Kerch were left without heating. The fire also partially damaged the power transmission line. The occupiers are considering the possibility of deliberate damage to the networks.
On the night of December 8, on the territory of the occupied Crimean peninsula, in the city of Kerch, a fire occurred on a gas pipeline. This was reported by the Russian publication TASS with reference to the City Unified Duty Dispatch Service (EDDS).
“The gas pipeline caught fire. At the moment, the accident is being eliminated, the damage is being calculated,” the EDDS told reporters.
According to the Russian portal Izvestia, the power transmission line was partially damaged as a result of the fire. The Ministry of Emergency Situations is working at the scene of the incident.
The local Telegram channel “MyKERCH.RF” reported that the eastern boiler house in Kerch, which provides heat to about 30 thousand people, suspended operations due to an emergency on the gas supply line.
“The gas is burning, escaping from the pipe in the area of the “joint”. The system was shut down. However, the gas continues to leave the network under pressure until it burns out,” the authors of the channel noted.
It is reported that the gas pipeline accident occurred between 2 and 3 am. A representative of the occupation administration of Kerch, Oleg Shevchenko, arrived at the scene of the incident. According to media reports, a version of deliberate damage to networks is being considered.
Let us remind you that on December 7, in the center of Moscow in the area of Preobrazhenskaya embankment, the Elektrozavod enterprise caught fire. The fire started on the first floor of a paint shop for the production of reinforced concrete products and metal structures.
Earlier, on December 4, an oil depot was attacked in temporarily occupied Luhansk, causing one of the tanks to catch fire. RosSMI claims that workers of the occupation Ministry of Emergency Situations had to “maneuver” while extinguishing the fire, since there were allegedly Ukrainian UAVs in the air.
