Refueling in the Czech Republic at risk?
The import of PHM from Slovakia to the Czech Republic is very important for our neighbors. It mainly concerns the Moravian region. It is not yet certain whether it will be possible to extend the exemption from the embargo on Russian oil – it is precisely from this that Slovnaft still primarily produces its oil products.
“Immediately after December 5, 2023, we will try to continue supplying our Czech customers in accordance with the sanctions,” said Anton Molnár, head of communication and spokesman for Slovnaft.
However, our only domestic refinery sees specific risks. “Shutdowns or unplanned breakdowns and repairs at refineries in the Czech Republic, as well as other refineries in the region, which have been very common in all countries of the region recently, significantly increase the risk of fuel shortages in the region,” explains Molnár.
