Already available on the Greek market Honda’s new ZR-V in four equipment versions, it is a worthy proposal for those audiences who are looking for a spacious and even in implementation (as its name attests over time Japanese manufacturer), but also with leading technologies in terms of emissions and consumption, without compromising on driving pleasure.
The D-SUV Honda, bridges the gap between HR-V and the new one CR-Vincorporating the recognized hybrid system e: ALL, which has been upgraded to be more efficient in the ZR-V, ensuring a combination of performance and efficiency on any route, from highways to country roads.
Performance and economy
The powerful four-cylinder engine direct injection 2.0 liter works with two electric motors. Like Civic e:HEV, the power unit produces a total power of 184 PS and a torque of 315 Nm, offering acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h in 7.8 sec. In real-world conditions, it achieves CO2 emissions from 130 g/km (WLTP) and consumption from 5.7 L/100km (WLTP combined cycle). Via a selector, the driver can choose between four driving modes: Normal, Sport, Eco and Snow.
Design-wise, its elegant silhouette ZR-V characterized by a combination of options as defined by the uniform outer surfaces that flow from front to back, the precisely placed joints between the metal panels and details such as the center line with the characteristic edge.
The front part of the car could be described as “quiet” thanks to the thin headlights with the characteristic signature and the large, shiny black mask, consisting of strong vertical bars in the Elegance and Advance versions, while in the Sport models it is differentiated by a unique mesh-shaped finish. In the same style, the redundant side surfaces extend to the rear bumper and the corresponding lights that are harmoniously integrated into the rear door. The Sport and Advance versions also benefit from twin tailpipes with a polished chrome surround and a gun metal centerpiece.
The dimensions of ZR-V – length 4,568 mm, width 1,804 mm, height 1,620 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,657 mm – place the ZR-V at the “heart” of Honda’s European range of SUV proposals, ensuring spaciousness, practicality and comfort in a compact package. Being 50mm wider than the HR-V and 59mm lower than the CR-V, the new model is compact yet spacious.
Luxury, comfort and technology inside
During the design process, its engineers Honda focused on creating a stylish and elegant cabin that maximizes usability, ensuring it’s attractive as well as functional. This means that it is easy to use in everyday life with ample storage spaces and practical features such as multiple USB ports.
To the above are to be added high quality materials, the careful finish and the subtle lighting that all together make up a premium atmosphere. The low-slung dashboard and raised center console, along with plush knee pads and armrestscreate a “warm” feeling for the passengers, while the sophisticated technology HMI enables driver and passenger connectivity to the outside world, beyond the functionality provided by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Behind the steering wheel of the Elegance and Sport versions is one TFT instrument panel seven-inch, while the Advance versions feature a fully digitized 10.2-inch TFT screen that has been specially designed to display a wealth of vehicle data and real-time information as clearly and succinctly as possible.
A nine-inch touchscreen located at the top of the dashboard provides a direct, clear display of information for the driver and front passenger, with key information such as audio playback, time and vehicle status.
Front passengers benefit from one seating structure by Honda that stabilizes the body by offering additional lumbar support for better comfort. On the other hand, the luggage compartment offers a capacity of 390 liters with the seats in the upright position, which is 20% more than the HR-V. Folding the rear seats adds an extra 921 liters (1,311 liters in total), while the low, wide sill and flat floor make it easy to load heavy items.
The ZR-V is its latest model Honda which features Honda’s advanced suite of technologies as standard SENSING the company’s. Combined with the comprehensive system of 10 airbags and the excellent performance it has to show in all types of collisions, the ZR-V is able to provide high levels of active and passive safety. To ensure a precise and flexible operation of the active safety systems, it uses Honda’s latest camera and sonar technology.
Among the rich driving assistance and safety systems are included Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation System, Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition System, Adaptive Driving Beam, Driver Attention Monitor.
The new SUV is available in five exterior colors which include Diamond Dust Pearl, Ruse Black Metallic, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl and Still Night Blue Pearl.
