Ukrainian drivers protested peacefully and did not hide their reasons – a response to the blocking of passage by Polish drivers, journalists said.
On Tuesday, November 28, in Przemysl and at the entrance to the border town of Medyka, Ukrainian drivers blocked roads in response to protests from Polish carriers. This was reported by RMF FM.
The publication received a message to the hotline about traffic jams in Polish cities.
“Now I’m on my way from Przemysl to Medyka. Ukrainian drivers are protesting and have blocked two crossings,” one of the calls said.
Journalists found that one of the protests took place at a roundabout in Przemysl. This is where state road No. 28 passes, which leads to the border crossing in Medyka.
The media, citing the police, said that a group of about 30 people from time to time entered the pedestrian crossings for a certain period of time, blocking traffic. The same thing happened in Medyka, drivers drove onto the same highway.
Polish journalists added that the protests took place in a peaceful atmosphere, and Ukrainian drivers did not hide that this was a response to the blocking of passage by Polish drivers.
Protest of Polish drivers: what is known
On November 6, Polish carriers began an action to block the passage of trucks across the border with Ukraine. In particular, there was a gradual blocking of truck traffic in the direction of the Yagodin-Dorohusk, Krakovets-Korchova, and Rava-Ruska-Hrebene checkpoints.
Polish drivers demand the return of permits for drivers from Ukraine and a change in the rules of electronic queuing for Polish cars and the departure of empty Polish trucks from Ukraine without queuing.
Let us recall that on November 28, Deputy Minister Markiyan Dmitrasevich said that the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine expects positive results of negotiations due to the situation on the Polish-Ukrainian border. According to him, blocking the border had a negative impact on the Ukrainian and Polish business environment.
