According to Alexei Danilov, countries with territories partially occupied by Russia should publicly declare their position and desire to get rid of the influence of the Kremlin. Ukraine does not plan to interfere in this issue.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexei Danilov expressed the opinion that the liberation of the territory of Moldova and Georgia from Russian forces has nothing to do with Ukraine. He stated this in a new interview with the Radio Liberty portal.
The official argues that these two countries must cope with the liberation from Russian influence and the presence of the Russian Armed Forces on their territory without the participation of Ukraine.
“Georgians should do this. Moldovans should do this. If they believe that this territory directly belongs to them,” Alexei Danilov said.
At the same time, the National Security and Defense Council Secretary considers the actions of the current Georgian government “strange.” We are talking about the statement of the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, who stated that in the future peace treaty on the end of the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine there should be a clause on the withdrawal of troops from the occupied territories of Georgia – South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
According to Aleksey Danilov, Georgia should voice its public position regarding the return of the territories, and “Byzantineism” that existed up to a certain point should become a thing of the past.
The official also does not see the necessary development in those countries where the Russian Federation has its influence and presence.
“An example is Moldova, occupied by the Russian Federation for a long period of time. We do not see that this territory will have a development prospect until it becomes free from the Russian occupier. An example of Georgia. In 2008, when these terrorists entered the territory Georgia, they occupied part of Georgia – the same situation. The territory is absolutely destroyed, it is not developing and there will be no development prospects, because no one will invest money in such territories where the territorial issue is not defined,” the NSDC Secretary believes.
Recall, on March 15, Alexei Danilov said that the Kremlin was discussing the transfer of the capital inland. According to him, the Russian Federation will no longer be able to exist in its former form, and therefore there were talks to make another city of the country the capital.
