According to journalists, dissatisfaction is growing in the White House due to the constant requests of Vladimir Zelensky to hand over new batches of weapons. The conflict is also aggravated due to the desire of the Ukrainian leadership to return the occupied Crimea by military means.
A conflict is brewing between the leadership of Ukraine and the United States over the end of the Russian-Ukrainian war. This was reported by Politico in its material dated March 12.
According to the media, which refers to its sources among US officials, hotbeds of tension have arisen between the two countries. They concern the situation in Bakhmut, explosions on the Nord Stream pipelines, and the position of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who wants to de-occupy Crimea with the help of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Differences are growing behind the scenes between Washington and Kiev over the goals of the war and potential points of tension are brewing over how and when the conflict (Russian-Ukrainian war – ed.) will end.
The situation in Bakhmut
As of today, the Ukrainian military continues to defend the city, which was badly damaged by artillery.
At the same time, Washington is concerned that the military-political leadership of Ukraine pays so much attention to the defense of a small city in the Donetsk region. The allies are concerned that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are spending an unacceptably large amount of manpower and ammunition on the defense of Bakhmut.
The United States of America fears that such a position of Ukraine will deprive our country of the opportunity to launch a spring counteroffensive.
Deliveries of weapons to Ukraine
Misunderstandings also arose between the military-political leadership of Ukraine and the United States over the supply of the necessary weapons and ammunition. The Pentagon believes that they provide our country with a sufficient amount of military-technical assistance.
According to White House officials, who spoke to the media on condition of anonymity, dissatisfaction is brewing in the Biden administration due to the constant requests of Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with even more weapons. And some representatives of the White House even believe that the President of Ukraine does not show due gratitude for the assistance provided.
“While Biden promised unwavering support, the United States made it clear to Kyiv that they could not endlessly fund Ukraine at the same level,” the source said.
The question of the return of Crimea
The White House also believes that Ukraine should abandon the idea of de-occupying Crimea by military means.
According to the publication, officials of the ally state believe that the persistent attempts of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to return the Crimea only drag out the Russian-Ukrainian war.
In addition, the Pentagon doubts that the Ukrainian military, despite the fact that they are armed with the latest Western weapons, will be able to push Russia out of Crimea.
War crimes of the RF Armed Forces in Ukraine
“Small cracks” between Ukraine and the United States have also arisen in the issue of the responsibility of the Russian military for the crimes committed in our country. It is noted that the Pentagon is against providing the International Criminal Court with evidence of possible Russian war crimes. This situation dealt another blow to US-Ukrainian unity.

In addition, on March 8, the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced his readiness to give part of the territories of Ukraine to the Russian Federation. In an interview with journalist Sean Hennety, the ex-president said he would take such a step “in the worst case.” As a result, the media had to cut at least 30 seconds of his speech.
