According to journalists, Russians who live in emergency houses can be relocated to wooden high-rise buildings. In total, there are about 80 thousand slums on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Nine-story wooden houses may appear on the territory of the Russian Federation. This was stated by the Minister of Construction and Housing and Public Utilities Irek Fayzullin during a parliamentary dialogue in the Federation Council, writes the Russian agency “Interfax”.
“Today, we have in Russia’s expertise already the documentation for nine-story facilities that will possibly be built,” the journalists quoted the official as saying.
Fayzullin claims that at the moment a regulatory framework is being developed for the implementation of such a project. According to him, the work will be completed within 2023.
According to the Russian media outlet Izvestia, the government is considering the possibility of resettling residents of emergency houses in wooden high-rise buildings. To stimulate the move to such facilities, the authorities can introduce preferential mortgages on them.
In August last year, the publication also reported that the first wooden apartment building in the Russian Federation was built in 2014 in the Tver region. In 2022, the Russians also completed the construction of four-story wooden houses in the Volgograd region, called the Sokoliki residential complex.

The fact that Russians need to be relocated from emergency houses to wooden ones was also stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“For a number of regions, for many of our citizens, this can be a really convenient, effective solution,” Putin said on February 10 at a meeting on the development of the timber industry.
According to the register, there are about 80 thousand emergency houses in Russia, in which 1.4 million people live. The situation is worst in Karelia – there are almost 4,900 structures in disrepair.
Recall that on February 9 in the territory of the Russian Federation, in Novosibirsk, the entrance of a five-story residential building collapsed. The accident occurred due to a gas explosion, resulting in a strong fire.
We also wrote that the Russian authorities encourage their citizens to buy real estate in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine by providing them with preferential mortgages for the purchase of Ukrainian real estate.
