Jerry Jouret, 81, was trapped in snow for six days after his car ran off the road during a snowstorm in the California mountains last month.
Jerry Jouret survived by being stuck in a snow block for almost a week, eating snow, candy and croissants. It is reported by the New York Post.
On February 24, a man wanted to drive from his mountain home in Big Pine, California to his family’s home in Gardnerville, Nevada, despite an impending snowstorm. On a clear day, the journey takes Jerry about three hours, but this time it took much longer to get back.
The mathematician and former NASA employee was driving through the snow when he lost control of his car and got stuck in a snow block on a small road. The man was unable to get his car out of the snow and decided to make camp right inside the car until the storm subsided or he could call for help.
Jerry had only a light windbreaker, a light blanket, and a hotel bath towel to keep warm. He conserved the remaining gas and battery life of his SUV by only running the car for short periods of time to keep warm.

On the third day, when he tried to close the window, the power went out in his car. Over the next few days, the glass was lowered several inches.
The Inyo County Sheriff’s Office received a missing person report four days after Jerry left the house. The search and response team could not start the rescue operation for several more days until the extreme weather subsided. On March 2, the police found a signal from his mobile phone, which allowed them to narrow down the search. A California Highway Patrol helicopter found Jerry’s car buried under nearly three feet of snow and took him to a medical facility.
The man’s body was slightly dehydrated, but the nurses were delighted with how good his performance was.

Earlier, Focus wrote that the couple suffered in an accident, but the nightmare did not end there, hungry lions were waiting for them. Mario Titus, along with his wife Grace, had an accident while driving from home to the hospital. The man wanted to walk to the hospital and get help, but a few moments before the accident, his wife noticed a flock of lions on the road, so they had no choice but to wait in the car.
It was also reported that a man who got lost in the Amazon jungle miraculously survived thanks to worms and insects. A Bolivian used his shoes to collect rainwater for drinking and hid from predatory animals.
