According to journalists, retired lieutenant colonel Alexander Vindman offered defense contracts to Kyiv through his company Trident International LLC. The new project would have to work as an intermediary between NATO and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Retired Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Vindman, who served as a witness during the impeachment hearing of former US President Donald Trump, has now been accused of trying to cash in on the war in Ukraine. Vindman allegedly offered lucrative defense contracts to Kyiv through his private company. This was reported on March 8 by Fox News.
In a statement, Tennessee Republican Senator Marsha Blackburn, who also criticized Vindman throughout the Trump impeachment trial, called him an “opportunist.” According to her, Vindman was trying to profit personally from possible deals in Ukraine when he blamed the Trump administration.
Lieutenant Colonel Vindman, who served as an aide to the National Security Council, testified before the House Intelligence Committee during public impeachment hearings in 2019-2020.
“Alexander Vindman has always been a political activist and opportunist who hid behind his career,” Blackburn said. He was trying to take advantage of the press hype against President Trump, she said.
Details of possible defense contracts with Kyiv
According to the conservative website Human Events, Vindman was reportedly offering defense contracts to the Ukrainian government through Trident International LLC, of which he was CEO.
The publication refers to the fact that last year Vindman, by the way, who was born in Ukraine, offered the Kiev leadership a project worth $12 million, which supposedly was supposed to solve Ukraine’s problems related to the preparation, repair and maintenance of weapons. A center was to be created inside Ukraine, which would work as an intermediary between NATO and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is alleged that as part of the project, equipment and weapons were to be repaired in close proximity to the front line in order to reduce the time for transportation and maintenance.
It is not known if the project was ultimately approved as there were discussions regarding payments, according to court documents.
According to Breitbart News, Vindmman confirmed this information in a tweet, which he subsequently deleted.
“Thanks for the ad. I’m doing logistics to help Ukraine win the war and secure America. I’m counting on the help of philanthropists to launch it. Please contact if you support democracy and US national security,” Vindman allegedly wrote.
In his response to Senator Blackburn’s accusations, Vindman called them false.

“Oh Blackburn. Yes that idiot, agent of chaos [провокатор]spreading misinformation. She never says anything true about me. Because of her attacks in 2019/20, there was such an atmosphere in which it was impossible to continue military service,” Vindman explained.
Focus previously reported that, according to Donald Trump, the war in Ukraine could turn into World War III. The ex-President of the United States stated this in an interview with The Telegraph on March 5. He is also convinced that he would be able to stop the Russian-Ukrainian war within a day.
