No matter how barbaric the enemies of Ukraine are, the perpetrators of the crime will be held accountable under the laws of international law, intelligence assured.
A video of the execution of a Ukrainian soldier for the words “Glory to Ukraine” was posted online in order to intimidate Ukrainians. This was stated by Andrey Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, on the air of the national telethon “United News”.
During the broadcast, Yusov stressed that the prisoner of war of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was unarmed and was under the protection of the Geneva Convention, which the Russian military blatantly violated.
“Here is another illustration of who we are dealing with. He was actually killed after the slogan ‘Glory to Ukraine’. This is another manifestation of precisely the genocidal war and the aggressor’s policy of genocide,” he said.
According to Yusov, the Russians, as part of an information-psychological operation, deliberately recorded their crime and deliberately posted a video of the execution of an unarmed prisoner to the network in order to intimidate Ukrainians, since “r * shists are not ashamed of these acts of genocide.”
“This is done in order to raise the level of hatred for Ukrainians inside the country, and to intimidate the Ukrainians themselves. But as in all other cases – the so-called blitzkrieg, or missile strikes – these are things that only unite Ukrainians to fight,” he added. GUR representative.
Yusov stressed that Ukrainians and the Ukrainian military remain representatives of a civilized country and nation.
“No matter how barbaric our enemies are, we adhere to the rules of the Geneva Convention and the rules of international law, including with prisoners of war from the Russian army,” he said.
When asked by a journalist about the search for those responsible for a war crime and subsequent responsibility, Yusov noted that a comprehensive search for perpetrators is already underway, and that the issue, both in this and in previous cases of reprisals against the Ukrainian military, remains “a matter of honor.”
