The operation to clean up a settlement in the Kharkiv region began with the village of Lesnoye in the “gray zone”. Soldiers of the Kraken special forces say that they “failed to enter” the first time – the RF Armed Forces blocked the road with anti-personnel mines.
The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, came to the operation to liberate the village of Russkaya Lozovaya, Kharkiv region, from Russian invaders. This is stated in the report of the publication “Ukrainska Pravda”, which was published on March 7.
The journalists talked with the commander of the Kraken special unit with the call sign “Vito”, GUR officers Konstantin Nemichev (former Azov fighter, head of the Kharkov National Corps) and Sergei Velichko with the call sign “Chili” (veteran of “Azov”).

“Now you can say – Kirill Alekseevich Budanov came to this task. He went to the assault,” Vito said.
He did not give other details of Budanov’s participation in the special operation.
How the village of Russian Lozovaya was liberated
The operation to liberate the village, as the fighters say, began with the village of Lesnoye in the “gray zone” on a hill. “Chile” noted that the first time it was not possible to enter.
“The Russians managed to block the road with “peemkami” (anti-personnel mines) tied with ropes. Plus, they worked out artillery. We had “200” and wounded. We had to curtail the operation and finalize it,” he explained.
Before the second attempt, a group of scouts entered the village and brought a local collaborator, from whom they learned details about the Russian forces. The “Kraken” had 200-220 people who advanced on foot through the forest, “Vito” remembered.
“While we were making a distracting maneuver, the commander of the Skif battalion entered with infantry through the right flank, occupied certain sectors, after which they began to clean up,” the commander of the special unit added.
According to “Skif”, the fighters entered the enemy positions through the forest at night and carried small arms, grenade launchers and a couple of ATGMs with them.
“We walked through the cemetery, cleared the streets, moved to the center, where there was a church. I chose it as our stronghold. According to agents, it was the only building with a solid basement where one could hide,” he noted.
Recall that on April 29 last year, journalist Denis Kazansky, a former member of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group, spoke about a special operation to liberate Russian Lozova. According to him, it was carried out under the leadership of the commander of the Ground Forces Alexander Syrsky.
Russian troops do not stop attacking the Kharkiv region. At the end of February, the invaders launched a missile attack on the Kupyansky district, as a result, 3 people were injured, 2 more were under the rubble.
Focus wrote on February 14 that the Kharkiv Regional Council voted to appeal to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with a request to rename the village of Vatutyno to Zaluzhnoye.
