In the unpretentious bonneted bus KAVZ-685, the first prototypes of which appeared in the late 60s, many technical solutions were surprisingly simple, but reliable.
The all-metal body had only one main passenger door – the front right. The rear served only as an emergency exit.
At the same time, there were no handles at the main door: the driver, bending slightly, opened and closed it with a special lever mechanism.
