The Ministry of Culture calls such a step another demonstration of support for Ukraine. Tickets will be issued for all stages of the competition, including the final.
The British Ministry of Culture will provide 3,000 tickets for Ukrainian refugees free of charge. This was reported by the press service of the government.
Refugees from Ukraine can apply for tickets for the Eurovision Song Contest, which will be held in Liverpool from May 9. The Ministry is ready to donate 3,000 tickets for all 9 stages of the competition, including the final. The head of the Ministry of Culture, Lucy Fraser, says that they want the Ukrainian people to be present at Eurovision, and that they be at the center of the event.
The government also plans to allocate £10m to Liverpool to help run the competition on behalf of Ukraine, showcasing its culture and creativity. The decision to hand out tickets has been cited as another example of the UK’s continued support for Ukraine.
“The allocation of almost 3,000 tickets for immigrants from Ukraine to the Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool will allow our compatriots to enjoy this event and glorify the rich culture and music of our country,” Ukrainian Ambassador to the UK Vadym Prystaiko said.
Ukrainians who are in the UK under the programs have the right to leave an application:
Homes for Ukraine Scheme;the Ukraine Extension Scheme;the Ukraine Family Scheme.
A detailed application process will be announced at a later date.
