The fourth generation of the BMW X3 SUV is in the development phase. Prototypes of this model circulate very camouflaged. This new opus of BMW’s flagship SUV will use plug-in hybrid engines but also heat engines.
Although the prototypes of the fourth generation of the SUV BMW X3 are very camouflaged, we can have a small idea of what this new opus will be. First of all, the future BMW X3 should keep thermal engines (with micro-hybridization) and rechargeable hybrids. This is what we discover by analyzing the photographs of a model on which is inscribed “Electrified vehicle” which displays a fuel hatch at the rear right and a charging hatch on the A-pillar, driver’s side. While the other prototypes have only one fuel door on the right side.
A charging hatch at the front left side, a fuel hatch at the rear, right side, we are in the presence of a plug-in hybrid model as indicated by the “Electrified vehicle” sticker on the driver’s side front door .
We also realize that the design of this new model should be quite wise. No enlarged nostrils at the front, fairly smooth curves, glazing practically identical to that of the current model even if it seems more tapered and longer. This model should also gain a few centimeters in length.
For the new BMW X3, no big beans at the front, one remains hard on reasonably sized elements. The lines are also quite soft even if it is difficult to get an idea given the camouflage covering the bodywork.
It is impossible for the moment to realize the interior of the model. But the interior should be inspired by that of the recent BMW X1 with a sleek and techno interior. In terms of technology, using the same platform, the new X3 should not be significantly modified in this regard and it should still be available in different sports “M” versions. Another certainty is the presence in the range of an electric BMW iX3, the current iX3 arriving in 2020 should indeed continue its career and be restyled shortly after the arrival of the new generation of X3 scheduled for 2024.
Expected arrival in 2024 for this new model which will exist with thermal engines, rechargeable hybrid. The current BMW iX3 electric model should continue its career and benefit from a restyling soon after.
