Obviously, some are so impatient to see the Tesla Cybertruck arrive that they make reproductions… in wood! Admittedly, it is not perfect, but it has the merit of driving, and not only on the asphalt.
The arrival of the Cybertruck has officially been postponed until at least 2022. This is in any case what Elon Musk recently tweeted. Obviously too long a wait for some. A young American by the name of CJ Cormwell has indeed made a replica of the famous electric pickup only in plywood. Its objective is to participate in a rally called Gambler 500 doing 500 miles or slightly more than 800 km.
Thermal and non-electric
Another rule of this competition is that the vehicle must cost less than $ 500! Suddenly, this version, to say the least, is not electric, but thermal. It is based on a Acura MDX first generation. We are therefore far from the incredible performance of Tesla’s version, but it has the merit of riding. This reconstruction was even entitled to a small name: the Plybertruck !
See you next year ?
It seems that this strange machine has managed to cover the 805 km of the last edition while dealing with some wrecks on its way. The next Gambler 500 will be held in 2022 at the end of June. Whether it will be present again at the start, only the future will tell. It only remains to watch for the arrival of an improved Plybertruck.
