The monthly barometer of AAAData, an automotive market data analysis company, is interesting. In May, the market recovery after a catastrophic 2020 continued, even if we are still far from the levels of previous years, with 141,041 registrations, against more than 190,000 in 2017, 2018 and 2019. A market all the more oriented towards professionals, with individuals at + 11% compared to May 2020, but in a market up 46%. In other words, it is the professionals who drive growth.
In any case, there is a category of cars that has not really experienced the crisis in recent months: electrics. And one statistic in particular is interesting in the monthly AAAData report: classification according to gender.
The top 3 electric cars preferred by women are the Renault Zoe, the Fiat 500 and the Peugeot e-208. Among men, it is the Tesla Model 3 which comes very far ahead of the Renault Zoe. The other difference is the presence of the Kia e-Niro in the Top 5 for men, while the Korean SUV does not appear in the women, replaced by the Renault Twingo ZE.
